Check out the new unreleased track "Dead Man's Curve" from Ross The Boss streaming on the German Metal Hammer site in anticipation of the soon-to-be-released Power Metal compilation from AFM Records! This is just a taste of what is to come on Ross The Boss: The Band's album which is due for release next September. The new song is #3 on the player.

On July 23, the new Heavy/Power Metal compilation "Metallic Dawning" will be released. With 32 songs on 2 CDs and a playing time of more than 150 minutes this compilations offers "value for money". It will be available for special price and even include 3 unreleased tracks (Ross The Boss, Circle II Circle and Elvenking). The cover artwork has been created by Bulgarian artist Dimitar Nikolov. I'll be on tour with RTB as a special guest all over Europe and the U.S . this summer and we are going to show the world how HEAVY METAL should be played!!

Sunday May 16th was a very sad day indeed for the music world. We lost Ronnie Dio a great singer,songwriter performer and human being! First my deepest sympathies to Wendy and his family , He was always the sweetest person you could ever want to meet! Surely one of the greatest singers of all time!
My Dio story goes back to 1980 when I was in a band called Shakin Street. We were supporting Black Sabbath in the U.K. and North America , Two dates into the tour in England Im backstage and over comes Ronnie James Dio introduces himself to me !!! believe that wow ! He started telling me he was a fan of my last band The Dictators and he knew everything about us, CBGBs, and the New York Rock scene. I couldnt believe it ! But the thing was he was so gracious , classy and downright cool ! Then he proceeds to tell me about this guy that was travelling with their genius technician Dawk Stillwell ,his name was Joey DeMaio and he plays bass like you never heard and that I should meet him . Well right after the conversation he introduces me to Joey and I guess the rest is Metal History ! Ronnie R.I.P. brother

Since Ross will be making the trip over the pond to work with his band on some new material for what will become the band's second album, They thought why not play a couple of shows while they're all together?
March 5th in Kaiserslautern (Germany), Venue: JUZ
March 6th in Dittigheim (Germany) , Venue: Sporthalle
Plus more live dates for the band are being scheduled
including the UK's Bloodstock festival in August,
and in September the band will play the Progpower USA Preparty show
with special guest former Manowar drummer Scott Columbus!

It is less than a day before the Brooklyn Thunder Fest commences at Europa in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This landmark event features New Wave of British Heavy Metal icons Raven, Earache recording artist White Wizzard, Brooklyn’s own Zandelle and Central New York favorite Titanium Black.
The headliner: Ex-Manowar guitarist Ross The Boss and his band, who will be making their U.S. live debut. In celebration of this landmark event, The Ross The Boss Band will be performing songs from Manowar’s first six albums as well as its 2008 debut “New Metal Leader.”
There are very few tickets left for this all-ages show, so act fast.
“It’s certain to be an emotional night for The Ross The Boss Band,” confesses the guitarist. “Our first show in the U.S. of A! What a journey it’s been. In three years, we have gone from playing a one-off ‘greatest hits’ show to recording our debut and then touring the world. To hoist the banner for heavy metal is the greatest honor for us and it is one we will not take it lightly.”
Ross The Boss’s "New Metal Leader" was released in January 2009 via Candlelight/AFM Records. The band will begin record its second effort in early 2010.

Ross The Boss will be signing your records at a meet and greet at Duff's 168 Marcy Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York on Friday August 21st.
Bring along all your records, posters, cds or whatever else you've got from Ross' era in Manowar, The Dictators, or any of his bands! He'll be signing things and selling copies of his latest album "New Metal Leader" from 10pm - 12am.
Tickets for the band's US debut show at Club Europa on August 28th will also be available there.

"Former MANOWAR guitarist Ross "The Boss" Friedman will be presented with a commemorative plaque for his 35-year career in music by Nikos Athineos, a rock DJ and presenter on the "Stargazer" metal radio show, one of the longest-running metal radio programs in the world. The award presentation will be held on stage at the Notos Club in Chania, Crete on Friday, May 8 at the conclusion of Ross’ headlining performance at the venue."

RTB's bass player Carsten Kettering did an interview with Metalzone.gr not long ago in which he discusses the album "New Metal Leader" and how the band which began as a cover band for a one-time event turned into so much more than that.
"We wanted something like a mix of real traditional metal sound with influences of a modern sound. We are really happy with our CD, the sound and the power of the album." - Carsten Kettering
Also, the band has started booking shows for the Summer Festival season.
