As a purveyor of True Metal, Tarek "MS" Maghary, vocalist and creator of the German Heavy Metal Band Majesty, looked up Ross The Boss, in his capacity as one of the founding fathers of True Metal, to do a solo on Majesty's 2004 album "Swords and Sorcery".
The two developed an instantaneous friendship.
In 2005, Tarek asked Ross once again to do a guest solo for his DawnRider project, a concept album which tells an epic fantasy tale from the Kingdom of Riandra through guest appearances of several talented artists from the world of metal.
Tarek, also the promoter for the Keep it True Festival, got the brilliant idea to match Ross up with Manowar Cover Band "Men Of War" (which includes members of Ivory Night and Divinus) for a night of early Manowar Music at Keep it True VI in April 2006.
This show marked the first time Ross had played a whole set of Manowar songs in nearly 20 years. It was the first time he'd ever played some of those songs in front of an audience.
Together, Ross The Boss and Men of War put on an energetic, moving and emotional show that made all the Manowar fans remember why they loved Ross in that band so much.
While at KIT VI, Ross made a surprise appearance early in the day on stage with Italian True Metal Band, Wotan, for the Manowar classic "Revelations". Another friendship was forged. Ross played a guest guitar solo and a guest piano intro for two songs on Wotan's "Epos" album.
Anxious to keep this momentum going, Ross went to Russia in June 2006, to play a Manowar Tribute show with an all Russian backing band.
Ross really enjoyed playing these shows, so he promoted the former German Manowar cover band "Men of War" to his own band. They were renamed "The RTB Band" and played shows in Germany, Italy and Greece.
All the guys in the band are really energized by playing together. Ross has no intention of only being a tribute to his former self, so they quickly began collaboration on some new original material.
Recently they have signed with AFM Records and a full-length "Ross The Boss" album due out in late August 2008, with tour dates beginning in July.
Ross was an important part of Manowar in their early days and the songs we heard so far brought back this special feeling you hardly can describe. We are very proud about his trust and belief in AFM Records and expect a Heavy Metal record that will write history again! Ross' guitar style is unique and with his German members he has the right metalheads along." -- Markus Wosgien, A&R of AFM Records
