Manitoba's Wild Kingdom

The Dictators claim they never actually broke up and periodically did reunion shows as far back as 1980. Sometime in the late 80's, after Ross was no longer in Manowar, one of these shows sparked a whole new band.
Manitoba's Wild Kingdom
After a sold-out Dictators reunion show in New York, the magic was still there. Original Dictator Bassist/songwriter Andy Shernoff was gigging in a band with drummer JP Patterson. They got together with two more original Dictators, Ex-Manowar guitarist Ross The Boss and vocalist Dick Manitoba. Hence, the four-piece known as 'Manitoba's Wild Kingdom' was born!!!" -- Drag-in-Bones, MWK Fan

Manitoba's Wild Kingdom was more metal, and more 80's than the Dictators, but the guys always knew who they were. Dictators songs made their way into both the bands live show and the album "...And You?" they released in 1990.

The single "The Party Starts Now" was a near-hit, and if it hadn't been for record company politics who knows where Manitoba's Wild Kingdom could have gone.

For Ross, this album bridges that gap from punk rock to metal, and serves as a good example of the kind of a guitar player he is.

A spin-off of the Dictators, MWK has one CD to their credit, the amazing '...And You?' ...Twenty-five minutes of blazing, cleanly recorded punk/metal, the disc is close to perfect... MWK evolved back into the Dictators with the return of Scott 'Top Ten' Kempner to the fold in 1991". -- Geoff Ginsberg, All Music Guide
